First of all you should be polite. ACS workers are often rude, arrogant and untrained. The easiest way to handle them is to speak in a calm respectful tone and ask what the worker wants. If the worker appears at your home, do not open the door. Even if the police arrive, you have the right to keep your door closed. If the police claim to have a warrant, ask to see it. If they do not have a warrant, tell them you will not let them in and you want to speak to an attorney before your speak to them. DO NOT make any statements to ACS or the police.
Contact an attorney as soon as possible to find out about your rights. Call the Law Offices of Michael S. Discioarro, LLC at 917-519-8417 24 hours a day and we will call ACS and intervene on your behalf.
